Sun, Sea & Palma de Mallorca

I went to this amazing island with my travel dream team, my sister and my cousin. We managed to get the same flight. We came from different countries. This made Palma de Mallorca our spot for our weekend away.

I would start with saying that Palma de Mallorca is so beautiful that a weekend it’s not enough. I  would recommend at least 5 to7 days.

We have arrived Friday night and we have hired a car to move around the island. Very comfortable and easy to go around, strongly recommended.

Our very first stop was to have a late dinner to Sa Farinera which is near the airport. Perfect location for a meal before or after a flight. You can click on the restaurant name for a link to my review of it and the pictures. I can only say that it’s worth it.

We stayed at Hotel Artmadams. It is a nice hotel itself. It's very colourful and particular. There is a small art gallery inside.

On the first morning, we headed straight to the popular beach. It is one of the most beautiful places I've seen so far. This beach is Cala Mesquida. The crystal clear water made me feel in Maldive, stunning. The beach is not so large, fair size. However we’ve arrived quite late, midday and it was packed even in mid September. There are some private subnets but of course they were all taken. We've stayed on the towel, almost barley found a place, under the hot sun. For as much beautiful it was we didn’t resist longer and we stayed only a few hours. We've decided to hire a small boat to have some fun. The boat experience was thrilling and so much fun. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long because my cousin felt sick all the time. We had to terminate our small adventure.

We’ve headed back to the city and wandered around a little bit. We had some sangria and tapas. Then, we went to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

We went out to have dinner at a popular restaurant according to Google. I am not going to name it as the food was just okay. In terms of price and quality, I could say that it was a bit overpriced. Most of our food didn’t have a taste. However the location  was nice and we did enjoy the walk around the port afterwards.

The following day, we went to Cala Santanyí beach. We managed to find some sunbeds as well. This was very fortunate because the place was really stunning. It was easy to reach, with a wide parking space exactly in front of the beach and the sunbeds had locker to keep save your bloggings. Plus there were a couple of bars and restaurants. I mean, perfect location to spend the day!

In general Palm de Mallorca offered us great memories, good food, and lots of sangria. It can be a budget holiday or very expensive. The flights were cheap, but the hotel was expensive. Having a car, which didn’t cost much, was good to save money on other forms of transport.

I would defiantly want to go back; I still want to explore other cities and beaches.
