Discovering Türkiye: Cappadocia, Istanbul & Antalya Travel Guide
Discover Türkiye’s magic, from Cappadocia’s fairy chimneys to Istanbul’s culture and Antalya’s beaches. A perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

My cousins and I decided to explore Türkiye, a country that had been on our bucket list for a while. We planned a short but full adventure, visiting three incredible cities connected by short internal flights: Cappadocia, Istanbul, and Antalya. Each destination offered something completely different, making the trip feel like three holidays in one.

Cappadocia – The Land of Fairy Chimneys

Our Türkiye journey began in Cappadocia, a place that feels like another planet. Between its surreal rock formations, cave hotels, and the famous hot air balloons rising at sunrise, it’s impossible not to fall in love with it. We spent our days hiking through valleys, exploring underground cities, and watching the sky fill with colours every morning. It was peaceful, magical, and the perfect start to our Türkiye adventure.

Istanbul – A Bridge Between Continents

Next, we flew to Istanbul, the city that connects East and West. We spent about three days exploring its mosques, bazaars, and lively streets, mostly on foot! The Süleymaniye Mosque, Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia were highlights, each filled with history and beauty. We wandered through the Grand Bazaar, crossed the bridge where locals fish at sunset, and stopped for countless cups of Turkish tea. Istanbul was busy, bold, and endlessly fascinating, a true mix of cultures and stories.

Antalya – Sun, Sea & Relaxation

Our final stop was Antalya, on Türkiye’s southern coast, the perfect way to end the trip. Known for its beaches and resorts, it offered a slower pace after the energy of Istanbul. We spent our days relaxing at Konyaaltı Beach, enjoying the sunshine, and trying local restaurants like Yemenli Meyhanesi and Varuna Gezgin Café.

Most visitors come here for all-inclusive resorts (and I do love those too!), but our stay proved there’s much more to Antalya, charming streets, local food, and a beautiful mix of history and sea views. We also visited Hadrian’s Gate and the Old Bazaar, both full of character and life.

Reflections on Türkiye

Looking back, this trip to Türkiye was the perfect combination of adventure, culture, and relaxation, from the dreamy landscapes of Cappadocia to the vibrant energy of Istanbul and the calm beaches of Antalya. We travelled by plane, walked countless kilometres, laughed endlessly, and discovered a country that’s warm, welcoming, and full of surprises.

Whether you’re travelling with friends, family, or solo, Türkiye truly has something for everyone. It’s a destination that leaves you inspired, and already planning your return.
